Experiential Podcast Workshop
for Marketers, Communicators and Entrepreneurs
Podcasting is very much on the rise. The reputable Edison Research group has been analyzing the state of podcasting for many years. In its most recent survey unveiled earlier this year, 21% surveyed noted that listen to podcasts on a monthly basis. This is well more than double since 2008 when just 9% reported to listen listen to podcast monthly.
Podcasting presents many opportunities for start-ups, schools and organizations alike to achieve specific objectives, be it visibility, more sales and/or enhancing networks, among other areas. The cost to entry is low, but the learning curve can be high. A successful podcast requires a strategy, the ability to create and disseminate great content and an understanding of the technical aspects of podcasting. The one-day, hands-on experiential workshop will provide you with the tools, knowledge and confidence to succeed in podcasting. Key takeaways:
1. Learn how to develop a podcasting strategy.
2. Discover the art of communicating your content through podcasting.
3. Practice podcast interviewing techniques and develop your style.
4. Gain an understanding about the technical aspects of podcasting.
5. Discover how to market your podcast.
6. Space is limited! We are capping the event at 30 so we can provide the hands-on support to help each individual succeed.
Our host sponsor is American Underground, one of eight Google for Entrepreneur Tech Hubs and home to more than 225 startups in Durham, North Carolina.
We are intentionally capping the workshop to 30 attendees (15 to 1 attendee to instructor ratio).Sign up now
What can you expect from the workshop?
We use the term experiential for a reason. This is very much a hands-on workshop in which there will be five key topics covered (see schedule). Workshop facilitators Kevin Anselmo or Victor Jimenez will lead an interactive, 30-minute discussion on a particular topic. Afterwards, there will be a 30-minute hands-on follow-up session so you can put into practice the principles covered. We are of the belief that learning best practice and studying different examples is important; but is really only the first step in the learning process. You have to actually apply the lessons to your particular context. The small workshop size of 30 - essentially a 15-1 instructor to attendee ratio - means that we can provide you with the hands-on support and guidance so you succeed.
In addition to the session throughout the day, we will also be hosting two live accountability Q & A webinars after the event, exclusively for workshop attendees. One webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, December 7th (three weeks after the live workshop) and then a follow-up webinar will take place on Monday, December 19th. We want to provide the follow-up to ensure that each attendee succeeds with their podcast!
The workshop takes place at the vibrant entrepreneurial working space at American Underground. Included in the workshop fee are coffee, snacks and lunch. All you have to bring is your laptop, a notebook and a positive learning mindset!
